New Years Eve
We have a tradition of taking Tate to a hotel on New Years Eve. This year he was lucky and the hotel was in Costa Rica. :)
New Years Eve was our second day in CR. We (Chris, Tate and I and Brook & Cara) spent part of the day in Coco Beach. We had some beers and did some shopping. That night we just hung out at the hotel.
Tate LOVED this tree at the hotel. He wanted me to take his picture with it. I then asked him where else he would like me to take his picture. These are the places he picked :)
Cheers!
Of course, we had dinner at Father Roosters.
Then back to the hotel to ring in the New Year. Notice Chris's rum.....he asked at the grocery store for the local rum.....someone suggested this brand. As we are sitting, drinking, we realize that this is imported rum, from Nicaragua, not local Costa Rican rum.

Ocotal, Costa Rica
For the first part of our trip, we stayed in Ocotal. We stayed at this great B&B; the Hotel Villa Casa Blanca.

The owners, Modesta and Juan are fabulous hosts. Olman, the receptionist, was very helpful. A big thanks to all three of them!!
Here are some pics from our first day. Chris, Tate and I arrived to the hotel on Dec 30 around 1:30 pm.
At our favorite place in Ocotal; Father Roosters.

After some food & drinks....straight to the beach! Ocotal has a great black sand beach.
Tate said he was a baby seal.
The rest of the night we hung out at the hotel. Brook & Cara got there around 9:30 pm.
This one is for my sister. :)
